The modern village of Chamrousse is divided into the villages Le Recoin (located at 1650 meters altitude) and Roche Beranger (located at 1750 meters altitude). These villages are also called Chamrousse 1650 and Chamrousse 1750.
Chamrousse has its own ski area, consisting of ca. 90 km of slopes. The right part of the ski area is especially suitable for families with children and beginning skiers,due to offer in blue and green slopes that can be found here. The advanced skier can go to the left part of the ski area, where mostly red and black pistes are situated.
The village has several facilities, like a supermarket, a ski school, nursery, several restaurants and a few bars. Other facilities in the village include ice rinks, a toboggan run for kids and approximately 41 km of cross-country trails, 5 km of hiking trails and the ability to experience a tour on a snowmobile or a dog sled.
The villages Chamrousse Chamrousse 1650 and 1750 are connected via ski lifts and slopes, but there is also a free ski bus connection between both villages.
