Because of its location on the south side of the Alps, this is one of the sunniest winter sport destinations in Europe. The area can be called almost entirely snow-certain, because of the many modern artificial snow blowers which have been installed during the last couple of years.

The Dolomites are considered to be one of the most beautiful mountain landscapes in the world. That is one of the reasons why the mountain area has recently been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. The mountains arose from the earth crust about 250 million years ago and have ever since been subject to change due to the relentless effects of water, wind and ice. Many visitors have been enamored by the pointed peaks, steep mountain walls and beautiful colors that appear and change during the day. At sunset the mountain tops get a fiery red color that turns into violet at night.

The ski area of Arabba/Marmolada covers 60 km of challenging slopes. The red run Bellunese (8km) and the Ornella (3.9 km) is a great example, declining 871 meters during these runs. Also for the beginners there is 25 km of blue slopes offered, which gives enough opportunities. Arabba is also well-known among snowboarders, as the off-piste opportunities are incredible and there are plenty of options to enjoy.

A part of the famous Sella Ronda, the most recognized ski route of the Dolomites, also leads through the ski area of Arabba. Via the Sella Ronda the ski area is directly connected to the area of Val Gardena, Alta Badia and Val di Fassa, covering over 485 km of slopes.
