Donnersbachwald is a picturesque village in a quiet region of Styria. Just outside the village you will find the valley station of the Riesnerbahn. This chairlift takes you to the Riesneralm where you will find 32 km of slopes. The ski area is conveniently arranged and consists mainly of blue and red runs. The ski area has a Kinderskischaukel where the young ski enthusiasts can get the hang of skiing. You will also find a ski school here.
At the valley station you will find a ski rental and a small store for daily shopping. Furthermore, there are not many facilities and it is a quiet village. In Donnersbach, about 10 km from Donnersbachwald, you will find a supermarket.
An advantage of Donnersbachwald is that you pass the border at Passau and can thus avoid the crowds at Munich.
