St. Leonhard is centrally located in the ski region of the Pitztal, creating good accessibility to the diverse ski areas in the valley. The village has several centres, situated at a large distance from one another offering plenty of facilities like a ski school, ski rental, a number of restaurants, après-ski, day care, an ice rink and a 6 km long tobogganing run. In the evening the village becomes even more lively, attracting tourists from around the area to go out.
There is no ski area situated in St. Leonhard, however in the direct surrounding of the village there are a number of possibilities to ski and snowboard. On the Pitztal glacier in Mittelberg it can be very crowded, nevertheless it is one of the most favourite areas to ski. At the glacier there is a complete fun park and a boarder cross situated, challenging the snowboarders and free-style skiers. In the Rifflsee area there are also a number of facilities offered for snowboarders e.g. a half pipe.
At the Pitztal glacier and the Mittelberg glacier there is a 15 km long cross-country trail situated and in the valley there is a hiking track located of ca. 25 km. In the area there are also big foot tours organised.
Guests staying in St. Leonhard are dependent on a car or the ski bus.
