St. Leonhard is centrally located in the ski region of the Pitztal, creating good accessibility to the diverse ski areas in the valley. The village has several centres, situated at a large distance from one another offering plenty of facilities like a ski school, ski rental, a number of restaurants, après-ski, child day care and an ice rink. In the evening the village becomes even more lively, attracting tourists from around the area to go out.

There is no ski area situated in St. Leonhard, however the village is located exactly between the Pitztaler Gletsjer & Rifflsee and the Hochzeiger ski area. The Pitztaler Glacier in Mittelberg is popular and therefore the most favorite place for skiing. From the Pitztal Glacier you can also ski in the Rifflsee ski area via a connection to a ski road or by ski bus (approx. 500 meters). These areas are therefore (partly) connected to each other, which means that there are plenty of options. If you drive the other way from St. Leonhard, you will arrive at the ski area Hochzeiger. This ski area is also worthwhile with 40 km of connected slopes. The ski areas can be reached by car or by ski bus.
St. Leonhard has plenty to offer for hikers and cross-country skiers. There is, for example, a 21 km long trail from Mittelberg, via St. Leonard, to Wiese, which also includes a hiking trail.
