Bad Hofgastein is situated in the ski area of Skischaukel Schlossalm – Stubnerkogel. This area offers most of its pistes in the Gasteinertal and connects Bad Hofgastein to the village of Bad Gastein. From Bad Hofgastein you can reach the Schlossalmbahn on the Schlosalm (2050 metres). Via the Angertal you can then go to the Stubnerkogel (2251 metres).
In this area you can find a snowpark, funslope and a practice area. Moreover, cross-country skiers can start several trails from Bad Gasthofstein and there are two ski schools and a nursery found in the village.
For those who rather not go skiing or snowboarding there are a number of restaurants, bars and many Spa facilities. Furthermore, you can visit the thermal baths or enjoy the great offer in cultural events in the direct surroundings like the nearby city of Salzburg.
