Lech am Arlberg is an authentic winter sport destination, which is surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Lechtaler Alps. The village is part of the multifaceted and snow-sure Ski Arlberg ski area. Lech’s ski area lies on both sides of the village and is spread over four mountains. You will find mostly wide, blue and red runs in this area, which makes the area very suitable for beginners and families with children.
The two cabin lifts in the centre of Lech will take you to the Rüfikopf. From this point, it is possible to ski back to the village, and her basic practice areas. The Kriegerhorn and the Zuger Hochlicht can be reached by using the chairlifts on the other side of the village. The chairlift at the Schlegelkopf is located next to a snow park for freestylers of all levels.
The ski area of Lech is connected to the neighbouring village Zürs. There is a free ski bus driving from Lech to St. Anton. The ski area of St. Anton, St Christoph and Stuben has a lot to offer for the advanced skier.
Lech has a luxury image, but nevertheless retained its rustic character. The village is known for its cozy après-ski. There are several terraces and pubs, where you can have a drink after a whole day of skiing. But Lech has also a couple of clubs, where the party goes on, till late into the night. Numerous restaurants, supermarkets, stores, ski schools and day cares can be found in and around the centre of this village. Children from 3 years old, can learn to ski at the local kidsclub.
Besides skiing and snowboarding, it is possible to do a lot of other activities in the area of Lech. There is a cross-country trail from Lech to Zug and a practice trail on the edge of the village. Hikers can go for a walk to the nearby villages Stubenbach, Oberlech and Zuch. During the winter season Lech has an ice-skating track. The toboggan run is located between the villages Oberlech and Lech.
