Leogang is located in the valley at the foot of the Leoganger Steinberge. The village is modest and more economic than the neighbouring villages of Saalbach and Hinterglemm but still connected to the popular Skicircus of Saalbach / Hinterglemm / Leogang/Fieberbrunn. The village perfectly located for those who want to explore the ski area and its facilities, but also for those who want to stay in a quiet environment. From winter 2019/2020 there is one ski pass for the ski areas of Zell am See/Kaprun and Saalback/Hinterglemm/Leogang/Fieberbrunn, for a total of 408 km of slopes.
The ski resort of Leogang with the Asitz slopes is the area with the most snow of the region. The valley station of the cabin lift Asitzbahn is located about 1 km west of the village. This cabin lift gives you the connection to the ski resorts of Saalbach and Hinterglemm. Advanced skiers will find the two short, but tough runs on the road to Saalbach very attractive. Beginners can start at Leogang and follow the blue runs into Saalbach. There is also a small, separate ski area (at 1071 m) called Irracheck above Leogang, which contains three beautiful slopes. When there is enough snow, these slopes are especially suitable for beginners. Snowboarders can use the half pipe near the Almlift.
Leogangs kids park is found near the Asitzbahnen. At this practice area children can learn to ski in a playful way. There are about 40 km of cross-country trails leading throughout Leogang, including the 11 km long Panoramaloipe. Hikers can enjoy the several trails for (organized) hikes . In addition, you will find a toboggan run in Leogang, which is open daily, including Tuesday and Friday night.
Leogang itself has sufficient facilities. There are various restaurants and bars, a number of supermarkets and shops , ski schools and an indoor pool .
