The small mountain village of Viehhofen is located near the well-known village of Saalbach and belongs to the ski area Skicircus Saalbach/Hinterglemm/Leogang/Fieberbrunn. A ski bus runs between Viehhofen and Saalbach and from the intermediate village of Vorderglemm, at 4 km distance, you can already enter the ski area with the Schönleitenbahn.
A recently built lift has created a connection from Viehhofen to the Schmittenhöhe ski area in Zell am See. Here, another 77 km of groomed slopes await you. The ski pass is valid in the ski area of Saalbach/Hinterglemm/Leogang/Fieberbrunn and in the ski areas of Zell am See and Kaprun. This means a total of 408 km of slopes.
With good snow conditions, it is possible to ski back from the Saalbach/Hinterglemm/Leogang/Fieberbrunn ski area to Viehhofen via the 7.5 km long blue valley run (No. 168). From the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See you can return to Viehhofen via one of the ski routes (only for advanced skiers) or with the cable-car. In Viehhofen itself there is a baby lift with a practice area and a meeting point for the ski school.
In the quiet village you will find a few restaurants, bars and a supermarket. For more shops, but also many après ski opportunities, you can visit the lively village of Saalbach, which is approximately 8 km away from Viehhofen.
