Snow-certain ski area in Tirol, surrounded by cosy villages
[b]STUBAITAL[/b] The Stubaital is an authentic Austrian valley, situated in the mountains of Tirol. There are several villages situated in the valley with beautiful churches, surrounded by an impressive mountain land and with a family friendly ski area. Between these villages there are free ski busses available.
[b]Stubaier Glacier[/b] The ski area of the Stubaier Glacier exists out of four glaciers, forming one of Europe's largest 'all-season' ski area. This area can be visited from October till June and covers over 62 km of various slopes - from wide blue runs to challenging, curvy black pistes and unprepared ski routes.
The ski areas of Stubaier Glacier is situated at the end of the Stubaital and from the foot of the Mutterberg (1721 metres) the Gletscherbahn will depart directly into this area. At the beginning of the Stubaital there are three more smaller ski areas situated:
[b]Serles[/b] The last ski area is the area of Serles, situates at the village of Neustift. This area is also a small area, with 6 km of slopes who are challenging and demaninding, but with a beautiful view on the Stubaier mountain world.
[b]Schlick 2000[/b] A few kilometres further, at the villages of Telfes and Fulpmes, the ski area of Schlick 2000 is situated. Here you will find 21 km of easy-accessible and intermediate ski runs.
[b]Elfer[/b] The last ski area, found in the village of Neustift, is Elfer. This is a small ski area, covering 9 km of challenging slopes with a stunning view over the Stubaier mountains.
Other activities in the area are cross-country skiing and hiking; there is 130 km of diverse trails available and for hikers there is 88 km of paths spread through the area. Moreover, the Stubaital is a true toboggan paradise with 11 sled runs, of which a few are lit during the night. Snowboarders and free stylers can enjoy the fun parks, situated at the Stubaier Glacier and in Schlick 2000.
For the 100th anniversary of Walt Disney, the Ski Club Mickey Maus opened its doors in 2001. Children up to 3 years of age, who do now ski yet, can enjoy themselves here during the whole day! Children from 4 years and older can enjoy Kids Land and Mini Land where they will learn how to ski in a playful way. This kids club is situated nearby the Clubhaus, at the lift station Gamsgarten.
At the lift station Gamsgarten a large ice climbing tower is situated, which can be climbed every Friday, under guidance.
