The village Piesendorf is found at the heart of the Europa Sportregion. The village is located between the ski areas of Kaprun (3 km, free ski bus) with its nice Maiskogel ski area and the Kitzeinhorngletscher and Zell am See (2 km), which gives you access to the Schmittenhöhe ski area through the Areit gondola station.
From winter 2019/2020 there is one ski pass for the ski areas of Zell am See/Kaprun and Saalback/Hinterglemm/Leogang/Fieberbrunn, for a total of 408 km of slopes.
Piesendorf is very sunny and located at an altitude of 785 metres. In the small centre you'll find everything you'll need for your daily groceries. There is a super market, a butcher shop and a bakery. You'll also find a bank, tourist office and several restaurants.
The village also has the Erlebnisberg Naglköpf, where beginners and children can learn the basics of skiing, before entering the large ski area. Moreover, there are several possibilities for fun sports e.g. tobogganing, sky gliding, snow tubing and even paragliding. Three evenings a week the mountain is fully illuminated, which allows you to do all sorts of outdoor activities after skiing.
Kaprun is known for the big resevoir and the impressive Kitzsteinhorn glacier. The cosy centre of Kaprun has plenty of bars, restaurants and nightclubs for a nice après-ski.
