Wintersport Valfréjus
Ski area with plenty of possibilities for beginners
The ski-region of Valfréjus is situated near the Italian border and covers around 70 km of pistes, mainly interesting and exciting for the skier and snowboarder on a beginner level. There are several beautiful blue slopes a true recommendation is the run from Punta Bagna passing the Pas du Roc into to valley.
There are some red and black slopes in the area for the advanced skiers, but real excitement will not be found on the pistes but off the pistes. For snowboarders there is a fun-park available in Valfréjus.
From the village of Valfréjus goes a gondola lift to the middle station ‘'Plateau d'Arrondaz' (2200 meters). This plateau consists of a restaurant with a large sun terrace. This location is also the most central location of the area where most pistes come together. This plateau is therefore a smart place to meet others for e.g. a ‘Vin Chaud’ or for lunch.
For hikers there are tours organized, twice a day, and for cross-country skieers there is one trail of 10 km available in Valfréjus. However, in Bramans, a village nearby, a trail of 50 km is available. It is also possible to go heli-skiing or heli-boarding in Italy.
