The ski region Vallee de Chamonix Mont-Blanc covers over 118 km of sunny slopes for endless excitement to skiers of all abilities. The region is the first winter sport area of all of France. Located at the foot of the Mont Blanc, in the valley, the destination Chamonix is situated. Chamonix is quite well-known due to its part as first host during the Winter Olympics in 1924. The region offers beautiful pistes for skiers of all ranges. The slopes of La Flégère (Les Praz), Le Brévent and Le Tour are ideally for beginners, whereas Le Brévent with its red and black slopes is more suited for the experienced skieers. The renowned off-piste run through the Vallée Blanche (4 hours) is, however, a must for every outstanding skier. This off-piste tour covers 21 km and runs from Aiguille du Midi to Chamonix and continues to the glacier.
Chamonix and Argentière offer unlimited possibilities for freeriders and also for snowboard the offer is appealing with the available fun park and half pipe. For cross-country skiers there are several trails, which are mainly located in the valley between Chamonix and Argentière. The trails are a part of a circuit and the longest trail, towards Argentière, has a distance of 30 km and leads through the forested surroundings. Around Charmonix there are numerous cross-country trails as well, and the trails can also be used for the hikers.
