The ski area of Crans-Montana is located in the region Wallis. It is a sunny and far-reaching ski-area offering over 140 km of variable slopes, 24 ski lifts and due to the modern lifts that are in use, the waiting lines are minimal.
The slopes of Crans-Montana are in perfect condition as there is a great accessibility of snow cannons. Throughout the ski-area there is a great variety of slopes available, offering red and blue slopes. For the experienced skiers this area offers powder slopes, which end in broad slopes surrounded by forest. The advanced skiers can also enjoy the glacier of Plaine Morte, that can be reached through the Aminona lift. From an altitude of 3000 meters one can enjoy a 12 km long slope, which is the longest slope in Europe, and return to an altitude of 1500 meters. Moreover, the famous golf course of Cran, changes into an ideal beginners slope with small lifts.
The snowboarders can enjoy the blue and red slopes of Crans-Montana, which offer a great variety of tours and the area also offers a snow park and a half pipe. Moreover, also for cross country skiers and hikers this area has a broad offer. There is around 60 km of hiking paths and 70 km of cross country trails available that offer amazing possibilities for tours. Other winter sport activities that are offered are sledding, ice-skating, heli-skiing, snow rafting and dog sledge tours.
The former villages Crans and Montana form one winter sport destination nowadays, with two cores that offer two different aspects. The area is child-friendly with a great variety in facilities. Crans-Montana is situated on a high-plateau above the Rhône and offers one of the most beautiful panoramic views of Wallis.
