Between the Walliser and the Berner Alps, in the Lötschental, the Lauchenalp ski area is situated. This sunny area offer 55 km of slopes at an altitude of 3111 metres and is suitable for skiers and snowboarder of each degree.See all our chalets and apartments in Lötschental
From the village of Willer you can access the area via cable-car. At the top of this lift you will find e.g. a ski school named 'Coolschool' with for the small children Snowli-land. Moreover there are several restaurants with sun terraces and beautiful views over the surrounding mountain ranges. The ski runs found here are either blue or red. When you access the chair lift here, followed by a cable-car you will reach the Hockenhorngrat (3111 metres). This area mainly features black runs (black-red) and there is a free-ride area. The ski area offers also great possibilities for tour skiers.
There are several other activities offered in this area like hiking as the area offers 50 km is hiking paths of which one is situated at an altitude of 3000 metres (the Hockenhorn). This is one of the highest hiking routes of Europe and presents a stunning view over the surrounding mountain ranges. Cross-country skiers can enjoy the trail in the valley, lit by night, and there is one trail leading up the Lauchernalp. There is also a toboggan run in the area!
The Lötschental is part of the Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn area, an official UNESCO heritage site since 2001. In the villages around Lötschental you can experience true authenticity, as they have preserved their original characters.
