Beautiful new apartment in Mallnitz

General description

Berghaus Wanderlust is located in the cosy village of Mallnitz. The flat is ideally located between several ski areas. For example, the valley station of the local ski area Ankogel is about 4 kilometres away with about 12 kilometres of slopes. Always quiet here, it has beautiful challenging slopes and also a children's area with easy slopes with drag lifts. The 2 gondola lifts form the heart of the area and go up to 2,650 metres altitude. Mallnitz is also a walhalla for freeriders.
The Mölltal glacier is about half an hour's drive away. Thanks to its snow guarantee, this is a great destination for the true ski enthusiast with some 36 kilometres of slopes.
But the most chosen option is Ski Amadé - Bad Gastein. A 5-minute walk from the house is Mallnitz station, and then you'll be next to the gondola within 12 min. Here you'll find 127 kilometres of pistes. In short, plenty of options for a varied winter sport.

Yet Mallnitz is not just about skiing. Many visitors fill their holidays with activities such as winter hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, sledding (on the toboggan run behind Wanderlust) and ice skating on the rink in the village.

In the cosy village of Mallnitz you will find a supermarket, some restaurants and cafés, a bakery and a swimming pool, perfect for unwinding after a day on the slopes. By the way, the pool also has a sauna where you can relax your muscles after all the hard work.

Bart and Marja from Berghaus Wanderlust organise a cosy 3-course dinner for all guests a few times a week. You can also use the bread service or even receive a full breakfast so you can start the day relaxed. There is a games cupboard with board games, a bookcase and an honesty bar. Here you can grab your own drinks and pay for them at the end of your stay. In addition, a campfire is regularly lit for roasting marshmallows, perfect for an atmospheric evening outside.
There is also Wi-Fi and a shared ski storage room available. For electric cars, there is a charging facility (at a local rate).

Of course, you can easily get to Mallnitz by car. Good to know is that you can shorten your route by 70km if you take the car train from Bockstein. Does this sound like hassle? It isn't! The train leaves every hour, from 06:20 to 23:20. No need to reserve a seat, you buy your ticket the moment you board the train or in advance online. Cost for the train in 2025 is €24.90 (online ticket: €19.90). Detours (+/- 90km) are of course also possible, via the A10 or the Felbertauern tunnel. You will then pay (extra) tolls for the tunnels in both cases. Also, don't forget to buy your vignette to use the motorways in Austria?

Layout

Cosy interior with a comfortable seating area and a lovely large dining table. Open kitchen with e.g. induction hob, oven, Nespresso coffee machine and dishwasher.

Three bedrooms, one with a double bed and en-suite bathroom and one with a double bed. The third bedroom has a bunk bed and a trundle bed. Bathroom with shower and a separate toilet.
