Popular and snow-certain ski area with lively après-ski
The popular village and ski area of Obertauern is a snow-certain area and has the advantage that everything is accessible by foot. Obertauern is one of the most popular ski destinations of Austria, despite the altitude reaching only 610 metres.
This variable area offer 100 km of slopes and the advanced skiers can even ski around in two different directions.
Apres-ski is also well-offered in Obertauern with its offer in lively bars, restaurants and discotheques.
For snowboarders there is a an area named Eldorado, Alpine boarders can challenge themselves on the wide ski runs and free style skiers and snowboarders can enjoy the fun park at the Plattenkarlift.
There are two cross-country trails leading through the area, one with a length of 10 km and one World Cup trail, which is situated at an higher altitude - both trails are challenging.
Furthermore, there is a nice hiking route leading to the Seekarhaus (1797 metres) situated in the heart of the ski area with a beautiful scenery.
