An affordable and comfortable ski area
The ski region the Grossartltal is situated in the Salzburgerland and is an excellent destination for those who are price-conscious. The ski area Ski Amade has 73 km of various pistes for skiers of every level and is family-friendly. De area consist of two villages: Grossarl and Dorfgastein.
Next to the ski school in Grossarl there is a wide practice area – ideal for beginners and children. The highest point of the ski area is the Fulseck at an altitude of 2033 metres where you will find mainly red pistes and a few blue pistes. For the advanced skiers there is a snowpark situated.
The ski area of the Gasteinertal can be reached by bus from Dorfgastein – where the village of Bad Gastein is found (note: this ski area is not included in the ski pass of Grossarltal, however it is included in the ski pass of Ski Amade). It is recommended to spend some time in Bad Gastein with its many wellness facilities with e.g. thermal baths and its thermal mountain Heilstollen.
Hikers can enjoy the 35 km of paths that are available in the area. At the tourist office there is more information available on the different routes. For cross-country skiers there are ca. 35 km of trails available.
