Stars are awarded based on the following criteria: interior, appearance, square footage, location, state of repair, etc. The number of stars awarded ranges from 1 to 5.

General description

The Bucheggalm in Hinterglemm is a very special chalet, built as a refuge to escape the hustle and bustle of Hinterglemm, to relax in a place surrounded by nature, to enjoy the silence.

If you are a true mountain lover and enjoy all the beauty that Austria has to offer, you have come to the right place. In this gorgeous chalet, you can enjoy togetherness and simplicity with family and/or friends completely privately. The beautiful natural materials create a very homely feeling and the views make you feel like you are alone on the mountain. You leave the après-ski below and take your shopping up with the last lift. In the morning, you will be the first to take the pristine slopes down and, with a bit of luck, you can set a 'first track' through a fresh layer of powder snow.

A bit lower down from the chalet you'll find the Buchegg Resort, where you can park your car for free and check-in in front of the chalet. On arrival and departure days, the owners will make sure you get to the top of the chalet with all your luggage. All other times, you are responsible for this yourself. This means: you must have the last run of the Unterschwarzachbahn! You get off the lift, descend a short distance and cross the piste, then climb up about 20 metres and you're at the path to the chalet. From here it's another 4 minutes or so of flat walking. All in all, it will take you about 10-15 minutes on skis from the Unterscharzachbahn mountain station to get to the chalet. You can 'evening ski' on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays as the Unterschwarzachbahn runs until 9.30pm. This also means you can still possibly hang out in the après-ski or grab a bite to eat in the village. Be sure to bring head lamps for the way back, though. Behind the Buchegg Resort is another hiking trail that takes you to the Alm, which takes about 20 minutes. Easier, though, is by ski.

Outside, you'll find an idyllic sauna house with mountain views, an outdoor grill with pizza accessory and, next to it, a covered whirlpool where you can watch the stars after dark.
There is also an outdoor pool but this is closed in winter.
In the basement there is another ski room for all your equipment.

Layout

Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, large fridge, good coffee machine with fresh beans, kettle, electric hobs and oven.
Adjacent is a stube with fireplace and sofa around a large dining table

There are 3 bedrooms, 1 with a double bed, en-suite bathroom (ground floor) and door to the outside, 1 with a double bed and a box bed for a child (1st floor) and 1 with a double bed. Furthermore, in the lockable TV living room there is a lounge sofa that doubles up as a bed.

The en-suite bathroom has a rain shower and toilet, in the basement there is another extended bathroom with bath, rain shower and toilet.
