This village is located in the Glemmtal, between two ridges of about 2000 meters high, close to the village of Saalbach (approximately 3 km away). Together with the villages of Saalbach, Leogang and Fieberbrunn, the village of Hinterglemm forms a large ski area; Ski Circus Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbunn, with a total of 270 km of variable slopes! From winter 2019/2020 there is one ski pass for the ski areas of Zell am See/Kaprun and Saalback/Hinterglemm/Leogang/Fieberbrunn, for a total of 408 km of slopes.
The ski lifts and slopes are mainly around the village centre of Hinterglemm, meaning you never have to walk far in the morning. From the slopes you have a nice view over the village. Hinterglemm and Saalbach are both known for its lively après-ski. In the village there are several nightclubs and combined with the many pubs you can definitely have a great night out here. There are also several mountain restaurants that highly regarded.
At the Unterschwarzach in Hinterglemm a fun park is located. A spectacular ski show is held here every week. Another must in Hinterglemm is the toboggan run. This toboggan run is open during the day and almost every evening as well. Sledges can be rented at the valley station of the Reiterkogelbahn.
Hinterglemm is mostly car-free. Besides catering establishments other things found in the village include supermarkets, (sports) shops, facilities for children and schools. In the vicinity of the village, nice walks and activities such as skating, snow rafting and snowmobile tours are possible.
