Wintersport Scheffau
The small and atmospheric village Scheffau is situated in the heart of the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental. At ca. 1 km distance from the centre the lift station is found, which you can reach by ski from the village. Once you reached the top by cable-car from here you can ski in the direction of Hohe Salve. Also the pistes of Ellmau and Going are well-accessible. In the village itself you can find a practice run and for children there is a children’s Kaiserland where kids learn to ski in a playful way.
The pistes at the Brandstadl are suitable for beginning snowboarders – moreover the region offers several funparks like e.g. the Kaiser Park at Ellmau. Cross-country skiers can enjoy the extensive network of 220 km of trails that is available in the area and hikers can enjoy the tracks that pass by the Hintersteinersee (lasts ca. 1 hour) or walk to the Jagerhutte.
In Scheffau there is no vibrant après-ski available, however there is a vivid schirmbar situated at the foot of the Brandstadl. If you seek more après-ski facilities you can visit the nearby situated villages of Ellmau or Söll. In Scheffau there are a number of restaurants and bars, a supermarket and some shops.
