St. Johann in Tirol & Oberndorf

The ski region of St. Johann in Tirol & Oberndorf is located just under the top of the Kitzbühel Horn at 700 metres height. This region is found on the Northern side of the Kitzbüheler Horn, offering great snow-certainty. The ski region of St. Johann in Tirol & Oberndorf offers a total of 62 km of pistes – mainly gentle runs however one challenging black run (7a). This area is therefore more suitable for beginners than for advanced skiers. There are ten drag lifts, four chair lifts and three cable-cars that offer access to the ski area.


St. Johann in Tirol & Oberndorf is very interesting for those who like to go cross-country skiing. The area offers one of the largest cross-country centres of Tyrol and the area is branded as ‘Loipesgute siegel’ – defining the excellent conditions of the trails. The cross-country centre has over 160 km of well-groomed trails available and the Hinterkaiser trail is the most challenging one.

St. Johann is a lively and cosy village with a number of restaurants, après-ski bars and authentic Tyrolean chalets. The small village Oberndorf is more quiet, nevertheless the village offers all the needed facilities of a winter sport destination.
