Ehrwald is a cosy and small village and is situated in the ski region of the Zugspitzarena. The village is situated at the foot of the Zugspitze and is surrounded by a mountain and a little river. In the centre of Ehrwald the Kirchplatz is located – with old chestnut trees and the picturesque white church. This area is very suitable for families with (small) children and also cross-country skiers and hikers can enjoy themselves in the beautiful natural surroundings.

Ehrwald is surrounded by three separate ski areas: the Ehrwalder Alm, the Wetterstein and the Zugspitze Plateau. Ehrwalder Alm and Wetterstein are situated at a lower altitude then the Zugspitze Plateau and here you mainly find red and blue slopes – ideal for beginners and children. At 3 km from Ehrwald a large cabin lift which will lead you to the top of the Zugspitze – the highest mountain of Germany. Due to its high altitude the pistes are accessible from November till May, creating snow certainty for those who visit the village of Ehrwald.
Furthermore, in the village there are a number of bars, pubs, restaurants, a national museum and a public pool with sauna.
There is at the Ehrwalder Alm a cross-country trail situated at a high altitude with a connection to Leutach – offering even more possibilities for cross-country skiers. There are also a number of trails situated between Ehrwald, Lermoos, Biberwier and Bichlbach.
