The child friendly village of Hochkrimml is found at a distance of ca. 8 km from Krimml and is a part of the Zillertal Arena ski area. Hochkrimml is a small village with many chalets and is perfect for people that seek for a quiet place. The village consists out of three areas: Filzstein, Duxer Alm and Silberleiten. Filzstein and Duxer Alm are connected with each other and the village of Silberleiten can only be reached by car via the Gerlos pass.
Next to the long parking parking place in the area Filzstein and Duxer Alm there are six drag lifts (of which two practice lifts) and a chair lift. At the parking place of Gerlosplatte there is another drag lift going up. Each lift has its own red and blue slope, which makes it a perfect starting point for both the beginning as the advanced skier. There also is a short black piste, next to another drag lift. Via this piste you can off piste ski to Krimml.
A true recommendation in this area is a visit to the Krimmler waterfalls, offering a memorable and unique experience.
In Hochkrimml the cosy Alpengasthof Filzstein is situated where you can enjoy delicious and affordable dishes and in the area of Silberleiten there is a cosy restaurant on the Plattenalm which offers nice meals as well. Every morning there is a mobile bakery in the village with fresh bread and for other groceries you can visit Königsleiten.
