Wald im Pinzgau is situated at an altitude of 900 metres at the border of the Salzburgerland and Tirol (Zillertal). Wald is a quiet and authentic village with various facilities like a supermarket, a sports shop (with rental), day care, an après-ski bar and two restaurants. The ski bus shuttles several times a day from Wald to Königsleiten.

The village of Wald is situated besides the longest cross-country trail of Austria (ca. 200 km – the Pinzgau Loipe) and between three ski areas:
- Zillertal Arena, starting from Hochkrimml or Königsleiten (ca. 15 min. from Wald by car)
- Wildkogel Arena, starting in Neukirchen am Grossvenediger (ca. 5 min. from Wald by car)
- KitzSki Kitzbühel / Kirchberg, starting in Hollersbach (ca. 10 min. from Wald by car)
The Zillertal Arena is accessible with the free ski bus.
The Zillertal Superskipass is valid in all the areas of Zillertal (458 km of pistes) and can also be used in the ski area of the Wildkogel Arena (77 km of slopes). Another option is the Salzburger Superskipass, offering access to all three ski areas – also the region of the KitzSki Kitzbühel / Kirchberg with its 179 km of pistes!
Wald is the perfect destination for hikers – situated at the edge of the woods. Other activities in the village are organised by the local sports shop.
