Sunny and snow-certain ski area, for families with children
The ski region of Aussois is situated in the Vallée de la Maurienne, near the Italian border.
The ski region of Aussois is situated on the Southern side and counts therefore many sun hours. The woody slopes reach to a height of 2750 metres and are maintained, when necessary, with artificial snow through snow machines and is therefore a snow-sure destination. Aussois covers over 55 km of slopes and 8 ski lifts.
Because there are numerous gentle blue and green slopes, the ski region is perfectly fit for beginners and families with children. However, also the experienced skier can enjoy themselves here as there are several exhilarating red and black slopes. Snowboarders can make use of the boarder cross, at the lift La Combe, and there is also a fun park in the area. Tour skiing is also one of the possibilities in the ski region of Aussois.
The cross-country trails in Aussois are located at an altitude of between 1500 and 1600 meters, near the villages of Aussois and Val Cenis Sardières. There are 30 kilometers of groomed routes of different levels. Hikers can enjoy one of the five snowshoe hikes or other activities in the area that are offered like e.g. ice climbing, horse riding and dog sled tours.
