Near the Italian border in the Haute Marienne the ski region of Val Cenis Vanoise is located. Since the winter season of 2008/2009 the ski area is connected to the ski area of Termignon-la-Vanoise, covering now 125 km of pistes and named Val Cenis Vanoise.
The ski region offers a great variety for both beginners as advanced skiers, due to its altitude. The gentle blue runs, and the longest green piste will offer enough excitement for the beginners, whereas the challenging black slopes are ideal for the experienced skiers. Most pistes of Val Cenis Vanoise are situated above the 2000 meters, where the highest slope starts at an altitude of 2800 meters. Half of the slopes in this area are located on the Northside, assuring snow certainty.
For snowboarders there is an offer of several fun parks including the best fun park of the Haute Maurienne, located near the village of Termigon. Also for cross-country skiers there are good possibilities to enjoy the sport as Val Cenis offers a 12 km long trail and in the neighboring village a trail-network of 80 km can be found. Furthermore, the many hiking paths in the region also offer a great possibility for true hikers.
