Wengen

Wengen is situated on a beautiful location in the Berner Oberland, surrounded by imposing mountain tops. The village is car-free and only accessible by train. Your car can be parked in the nearby situated Lauterbrunnen, from where you can take the train to Wengen.

To explore the versatile Junfrau ski region the village of Wengen is a good central destination. From the village there is a train leading to the Kleine Scheidegg and there is a cable-car departing to Männlichen. Here you will find the area Kleine Scheidegg – Männlichen with ca. 110 km of slopes. From the Kleine Scheidegg you can descend via a long blue piste to the village of Grindelwald and also from Männlichen there is a beautiful red slope leading to there. On the other side of Grindelwald the area First is found with ca. 50 km of slopes. It is also optional to take the train from Wengen, via Lauterbrunnen, to Mürren, where the ski area Mürren-Schilthorn is located. This ski area has 53 km of pistes. At Wengen are a number of children lifts and for snowboarders the area is perfect. Freestylers can challenge themselves as well in the large fun park on the Kleine Scheidegg.

There is no vivid après-ski available in Wengen. However, there are several lively bars open till late in the evenings. Moreover, in the village you will find e.g. several restaurants, discotheques, a supermarket and shops. There is also an ice-rink and a number of sport-wellness facilities.
