Verbier is one of the largest and most classy villages of the extensive ski-region of Les Quatre Vallées. The village is an atmospheric and vibrant destination attracting international skiers. Formerly Verbier was a lovely farmer village, but is nowadays developed as a true winter sport destination with numerous chalets, apartments and hotels. Nevertheless, even though the village has grown it has kept its Swiss charm.
There are several lifts departing from the village, leading to the ski region of Les Quatre Vallées. This region offers for all abilities excitement as experienced skiers can enjoy themselves at the Mont Ford (3330 meters) skiing down the endless slopes via the black Siviez or enjoy ‘tour paradise’ which can be found behind the Mont Ford. For beginners there are excellent slopes around the valley of Verbier offering gentle, well-tended pistes.
Within the village of Verbier there are also several facilities available, like shops and restaurants. It is also possible to have a drink in one of the bars and enjoy some après-ski. On a regular basis there are events and parties organized in the village and can be enjoyed by everyone. In the village there is also a ski school, daycare and a sport centre offering a swimming pool, sauna and ice rank.
The area is also well suited for hikers, offering around 20 km of hiking paths in the area and cross-country skiers can make use of two small trails that are available in Verbier. In Val de Bagnes there is a greater variety and a more extensive offer in cross-country trails.
