Salzburger Sportwelt is part of the child-friendly Ski Amadé, the largest ski region of the Austrian Alps and formed by five areas: Schladming-Dachstein, Salzburger Sportwelt, Grossarltal, Hochkönig and Gastein. Ski Amadé is so extensive, that these areas are not all interconnected. However, they are linked through buses.
The largest and also the most central ski area of Ski Amadé is Salzburger Sportwelt. There are 13 villages situated here and all have their own unique aspects, offering for everyone something that will suit their needs. Salzburger Sportwelt is divided in five sub ski areas that are not connected by pistes but can be reached by ski bus.
Skischaukel Flachau-Wagrain-St.Johann: 172 km piste
The most extensive interconnected ski area in the Salzburger Sportwelt exists out of three areas: Flachau, Wagrain and St. Johann. This diverse ski area is suitable for both beginners as experienced skiers and covers over 172 km of slopes. During the evenings you can also ski here on the lit pistes. For snowboarder there are various exhilarating descents offering enough challenge.
Skiparadies Zauchensee-Flauchauwinkl-Kleinarl: 88 km piste
The most black slopes are found in this ski area and the longest black run is the World Cup run Zauschensee with a length of 6 km. The Tauernkarstrecke is recommended only for advanced skiers and because the piste is situated higher than the Skischaukel the snow conditions are also better.
Radstadt-Altenmarkt: 20 km piste
This is a smaller area and due to its peacefulness it is ideal for beginners and families with children.
Filzmoos-Neuberg: 12 km piste
This area is very suitable for beginners and intermediate skiers. The black slopes are short and challenging, however the experienced skier is suggested to choose another ski area in the Salzburger Sportwelt with a more varied and exciting selection of pistes.
Eben: 6 km piste
This small ski area offers 4 km of gentle blue runs and 2 km of red slopes with 4 ski lifts.
There are a total of 220 km of cross-country trails in the region of Ski Amadé, suitable for cross-country skiers of each degree. The longest trail is 50 km and leads from Radstadt to Wagrain, passing by the villages Altenmark, Eben im Pongau and Flachau.
