Chalet Edelweiss am See is located in Thumersbach, on the south shore of Lake Zell and near Zell am See. The chalet consists of seven nicely furnished apartments, most of which have balconies with lake views. The AreitXpress cabin elevator in Zell am See/Schüttdorf, which takes you to the top of the Schmittenhöhe (2000 m), is 4.5 km away. This elevator can be reached by car or by free ski bus, which stops right outside the door. Furthermore, the snow-sure glacier ski area of Kaprun is less than 15 km away.

The center of the ski resort of Zell am See is about 6.5 km from Apartments Edelweiss am See. Two more ski elevators, among others, depart from Zell am See to the summit of the Schmittenhöhe. Zell am See also has an attractive center with many stores, restaurants, après-ski bars and you can also visit facilities such as an ice-skating rink and indoor swimming pool. The nearest supermarket is in Thumersbach (approx. 2.5 km away), but there are also many stores to and from the AreitXpress (Schüttdorf).

Layout

On the first floor of Chalet Edelweiss am See you will find the living / dining room with various dining areas, jointly suitable for 50 people. Next to the living / dining room you will find the professionally furnished kitchen. The kitchen has recently been completely renovated (2018) and includes six hot plates, an oven, microwave, two fridges with freezer, coffee machine, kettle and two dishwashers. Crockery, pans, cutlery, etc. are widely available here.

Outside there is a large terrace with fantastic views of the Zeller See, the slopes of Zell am See and the Kaprun glacier. The terrace is located on the southwest.
On the ground floor you will find a ski storage room with ski boot dryer and a sauna.

In total there are 21 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms in Chalet Edelweiss am See.

Group lesson

Book your ski- or snowboard lessons with Ski school Sport Alpin in Zell am See. This ski school offers several trained instructors. The lessons depend on the level and age of the participant. Most of the teachers speak Dutch, all teachers speak at least German and / or English. In high season they try to place as many Dutch teachers as possible with the children's lessons.

You can choose between ski- and snowboard lessons for children (ski lessons start from the age of 3 to 13 years and snowboard lessons from 8 to 13 years) and for adults. All lessons start on Sunday. Children have the option to eat with their instructors (costs: € 20,- a day, payment on site), offering the parents the chance to spend the whole day in the area till after the lessons. The group are often about 10 persons in total.

Lesson times:
Ski lessons children 3 to 4 years: Sunday to Thursday 10:00 - 12:00 (2 hours)
Ski lessons children 5 to 13 years: Sunday to Thursday 10:00 - 12:00 and 13:00 - 15:00 (4 hours)
Times for ski lessons for adults and snowboard lessons for children and adults: Sunday to Thursday 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM (3 hours)
