Allemond is a small village at the foot of the Col de Croix du Fer, one of the mythical Alpine giants known from the Tour de France. This village in the valley is the gateway to the ski villages Vaujany and Oz-en-Oisans. These villages are part of the 250 kilometre ski area Le Grand Domaine, known from the Alpe d'Huez ski station.
