The ski area of Le Grand Domaine is stretched out ski area, offering a variety of slopes for all levels. Those who love ski touring have good possibilities to organise one day trips, or even multiple day trips. Also beginners will enjoy themselves at the wonderful slopes that the area has to offer. The ski area is formed by the villages of Saint François Longchamp and Valmorel and offers a splendid 165 km of slopes.

The ski area of Le Grand Domaine has a variety of slopes around the famous Col de la Madeleine mountain pass. A big part of the slopes exists of green and wide blue slopes, making it perfect for beginning skiers to gain experience. Those who are looking for more excitement will be pleased as well. The Col-de-Gollet and Mottet have a steep black mogul slope and the La Lauziere slope is a good leg trainer as well.
The many natural obstacles make this a perfect destination for freestylers. For snowboarders there is a snow park with a half pipe. Three kilometres away, at Montaimont, you can find 15 km of cross country trails. The Zone Nordique du Gran Coin offers another 35 kilometres of trails. There are also walking paths, an ice skating rink and toboganning trails available.
Valmorel is a vibrant and well equipped winter sports village with many shops, restaurants, cinemas and discotheques. Valmorel is ideal for the entire family and has a car free centre. Houses have been built in chalet style which gives the feeling of an authentic mountain village. Though from the accommodations you will be on the slopes within a few minutes.
Saint François Longchamp has two areas: St. François Longchamp 1650 and St. François Longchamp 1450. St. François Longchamp is known to be a very child friendly resort. The slopes are mostly easy and situated in the hills of Le Cheval Noir, just above the treeline. Many alternative activities are being organised as well.
