Flaine

Flaine is a modern resort, surrounded by pine trees and is centrally located in the ski resort. In the centre of this village you'll mainly find large apartment complexes, built in the 70's. The village was designed especially for winter sports by the famous urban designer Breuer. The centre is completely pedestrianized and has much to offer, in terms of both skiing and après-skiing! Of the more than 260 km of slopes the majority is located around Flaine. One of Europe's biggest snow parks is located in Flaine, which makes this a paradise for snowboarders.

Flaine consist of several neighborhoods. The Flaine Foret, Flaine Forum and Flaine Front Neige districts offer direct access to the slopes and ski lifts. Just before Flaine, a beautiful district of chalets was built in a completely different atmosphere: 'Le Hameau de Flaine'.

This part of Flaine is the highest part of the resort, situated at an altitude of 1800 meters and has a spectacular view over the area. Hameau de Flaine consists of chalets and chalet-apartments, built in Scandinavian style and has a few shops and restaurants and regularly a bus shuttle will depart to the slopes. Experienced skiers can also reach the ski area by ski but to return to Hameau de Flaine, you need to take the shuttle bus.
