General description
Chalet Vonnes was newly built in 2014 and is situated at the Lac de Vonnes in the winter sports village of Châtel. The chalet has a peaceful but convenient location at just 100 metres from the two new chair lifts Portes du Soleil and Gabelou. The Portes du Soleil chair lift will bring you into the Super-Châtel ski area which has a connection with the Swiss part of Les Portes du Soleil. The Gabelou chair lift will get you to the slopes of the Linga / Pré-la-Joux ski area where you can then take the Télécabine du Linga towards Avoriaz. The new blue slope in the Super-Châtel ski area ends at the new chair lifts.
Chalet Vonnes exists of two identical chalet halves, both suitable for max. 14 persons. These houses can be rented separately or together. If you rent them both you will have the entire chalet at your disposal for a group up to 28 persons. One the two parts has a private sauna. Both houses have a Wi-Fi internet connection, heated ski storage and balconies with a view over the lake! If you book both parts you can turn the two living rooms into one large room so you can have dinner with the entire group! Cars can be parked directly at the chalet.
Facilities such as a supermarket, ski school, child day care, (sports) shops, restaurants, bars and a wellness centre with a swimming pool can be found in the centre of Châtel, which is about 1.5 km away from Chalet Vonnes. It was an excellent house, very nice that it was located so close to the ski elevator! Location is very nice, village within reasonable walking distance, beautiful views of lake and mountains. Heated ski storage room very nice. Kitchen also well equipped and fine, large table. Wifi is not very good, but sufficient. Sofas in living room were not really comfortable and most beds, especially the 3 double beds were very small. There are only 2 single beds downstairs which are relatively large. So for group with only tall people slightly less suitable.
