The village Selva di Val Gardena, also known as ‘Wolkenstein’, is recognized as the winter sport centre of the ski region Val Gardena. Of all three areas in Val Gardena, Ortisei, Santa Christina and Selva di Val Gardena, Selva die Val Gardena is the smallest, but offers the finest winter sport area. This ski area offers enough possibilities for skiers of each level. However, also for non-skiers this destination has a lot to offer like numerous shops, restaurants and bars, a discotheque, a concert hall, a public solarium offering massage possibilities and an indoor tennis court.See all our chalets and apartments in Selva di Val Gardena
Because most accommodations in Selva di Val Gardena are located at the border of the village, near or at the slopes, it is easily accessible. In the ski area there are several nice and cosy mountain restaurants offering the option to enjoy lunch on the mountain. When the ski day is finished you can enjoy some cosy bars. However, this destination is not offering grand après-ski possibilities. This village appears rustic and cosy and that is also what you will experience during your stay here.
From Selva di Val Gardena a cable-car departs to the top of the Dantercepies (2300 meters height). On this mountain it is said that the sun shines the longest and the strongest. On the other side of the village a cable-car departs to the Ciampinoi (2254 meters). From the top it is possible to ski downhill back to Selva di Val Gardena or to the village Santa Christina. The Northern side of this mountain is, due to the artificial snowmaking machines, always covered with snow.
