Rauriser Hochalm

The ski area of Rauriser Hochalm offers a picturesque landscape and is known as the Powder Paradise of the Region Hohe Tauern. There are 20 ski runs in the area and 10 ski lifts. In Embach are also a number of practice lifts situated.


The clear ski areas of Rauriser Hochalm is situated in the Raurisertal and is well-visited by beginners and families with children. There are two ski lifts departing from the valley into the ski area: the Hochalmbahn and the Kreuzbodenbahn. More ski lifts are situated at a higher altitude e.g. the Gipfelbahn leading to an hight of 2175 metres. In Rauris and Embach are ski- snowboard- and cross-country schools and for free style skiers and snowboarders there is also a funpark, Nuggetpark, with a boarder cross and a half-pipe.

In Rauris, Embach and Taxenbach you will find 65 km of cross-country trails, including the 32 km long Rauris trail. In Taxenbach is a lit trail, offering the possibility to go here during the evening! The area has 95 km of hiking paths and from Rauris, Embach and Taxenbach are several hiking tours organised - also snow shoe tours. Moreover, you can enjoy other activities in the area as well like e.g. sledding, ice skating, horse back riding, sleigh tours, ball shooting or you can go on an excursion to the National Park.
