In the heart of the National Park Hohe Tauern, the higher valley of Rauris is situated. In the ski area Rauriser Hochalm the friendly village of Rauris is found, once known as the golden town as many prospectors in this region sought their fortune. The old houses with bay windows and arches still remind us of the days of the gold industry.
There are two lifts departing to the ski area Rauriser Hochalm. This area is situated below the tree-line and very suitable for beginners and families with children. Furthermore, the area has enough to offer for the non-skier, such as hiking and cross country skiing.
