Just outside the picturesque Donnersbachwald, in the Schaupp district, lies the small-scale chalet park Riesneralm. The chalet park was built recently and natural materials were used, including lots of wood, giving it a luxurious feel. All chalets have a private (infrared) sauna and can accommodate groups of between 8 and 12 people. The chalet park is located in the middle of the nature of the Donnersbachtal, by a babbling brook and away from the hustle and bustle. An ideal place for a family vacation and to unwind.
About 1.5 km from the chalet park you will find the Riesnerbahn, the chairlift that takes you up to the Riesneralm. At this valley station you will also find a private children's ski area with five runs, elevators and a ski school, ideal for little ski fanatics. Also located at the valley station of the Riesnerbahn is a ski rental with ski depot, where they also sell some food and a bar/restaurant (open only during the day).
From Donnersbach you can also explore the slopes at Planneralm, die Tauplitz, Loser Altaussee and Kaiserau. These ski resorts are about 30 to 60 minutes' drive from the Riesneralm. Want to explore more slopes and spend a day skiing in a larger ski area? The Ski Amadé Schladming-Dachstein is about a 40-minute drive away and here you will find 123 km of interconnected slopes.
A supermarket is located in Donnersbach, about 13 km from the Riesneralm chalets. Close to the chalet park (about 200 meters) you will find a cozy, typical Austrian "Uhrige Hütte" where you can enjoy a drink.
Groups of young people under the age of 25 are not allowed in the Riesneralm chalets.
The chalet is spread over two floors.
On the first floor entrance with toilet. Cozy living room with sitting area, television and dining table. Open kitchen with hotplates, oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator with freezer, toaster, coffee maker and kettle. Access to the terrace. Bathroom with two showers and sauna.
On the second floor, four bedrooms, each with a double bed. Two bathrooms, each with a shower and toilet.
Furthermore, the chalet has a washing machine, dryer, garden shed for skis (with ski boot dryer) and two parking spaces. There is a charging station for electric cars (use for a fee). The chalet is accessed via an approx. 500-meter long dirt road.
