Sölden offers various activities and innovations – from concerts to international competitions to annual developments in the ski area. Furthermore, the après-ski in this destination starts already around 3PM and continues till the early hours.
Sölden is the only ski area in Austria with three mountain tops over 3000 metres high – also named the ‘Big 3’ – and accessible by modern cable-cars. The ‘Big 3’ are:
- the Gaislachkogl (3058m)
- the Tiefenbachkogl (3250m)
- the Schwarze Schneid (3340m)
‘Three mountains, three different views and platforms and three incomparable scenery’.
In conclusion, the ‘Big 3’ are worlds of experience, they have pushed the boundaries and opened new doors for tourism development.
The Gaislachkogel is accessible with several challenging pistes and has a beautiful and steep off-piste run. The end part passes through the woods.
For snowboarders and free-stylers there are high jumps, a halfpipe, rails, bumpers and a spine situated at the Giggijoch. Cross-country skiers can enjoy the trails that are situated at the back side of the village and hikers can walk along the river up to Hochsölden – the highest part that can be reached by foot (2027 metres).
