Le Refuge des Sens consists of three identical chalets and is just a stone’s throw from the escalator. This takes you easily, via a series of connecting escalators, down to the village below, where the gondola lifts depart. In just eight minutes, one of these lifts takes you to the impressive Alpe d’Huez – Le Grand Domaine ski area, boasting no fewer than 250 kilometres of slopes. This vast area offers plenty of opportunities for every winter sports enthusiast. At the end of the day, you can return comfortably by lift to Vaujany, as there is no run all the way down to the village.

In Vaujany, you’ll find a charming centre with a supermarket, various restaurants and cosy bars. Directly opposite the ski lifts are a ski school and several sports shops. For relaxation, head to Vaujany’s sports centre, where you’ll find, amongst other things, an indoor swimming pool, ice rink, gym, spa and bowling alley.
