A thick blanket of snow on the roofs, lights on the facades. Snow crunching under your boots as you stroll through the streets of a cozy ski resort. How wonderful is that? The charm of an authentic ski village truly enhances the ultimate winter experience.
Are you going on a ski holiday with your family? Then an authentic ski resort is just the thing for you. These cozy mountain villages are mostly found in smaller ski areas, where the ski school is centrally located in the village and you can easily let the older children roam around. You will always run into each other.
Most authentic and cozy ski resorts were not originally built as ski destinations, unlike some large ski resorts. The facilities might not always compare to those in larger areas. You won't find a state-of-the-art 10-person gondola in a cozy and authentic ski village. Are you ok with a simple chairlift and an occasional drag lift? If so, you should definitely check out our accommodations in one of the cozy ski villages in the Alps. How about Vallandry in France or Königsleiten in Austria?
