La Plagne is a diverse area and is suitable for both beginners as advanced skiers and snowboarders. The are is formed by ten villages, each with their own characteristics and atmosphere. The villages can be subdivided into six modern mountain villages, each focussed on winter sports, and four characteristic villages that are known for there lively and cosy atmosphere. These villages are connected via the slopes and the ski lifts.

In the beautiful ski area of La Plagne are more then 200 km of slopes available. The advanced skiers and snowboarders can challenge themselves at the glacier on one of the two black runs or the steep off-piste runs. Also above Aime-la-Plagne, at Le Boilley are a number of beautiful black slopes situated.
La Plagne is the only French ski area with an Olympic bob sled run with a length of 1.5 km, which can nowadays be used by visitors to the area - you do not have to steer, this is managed automatically. Moreover, there is an artificial ice climbing tower 'Tour de Glace' and there are two fun parks. On a weekly basis there is also a boarder cross organised in the area.
Just above Montchavin and Les Coches the Vanoise Express departs to the Peisey-Vallandry, situated in the ski area Les Arcs. The Vanoise Express is a large cable-car (capacity of 200 persons), leading through the valley. The distance from 1800 metres is crossed in four minutes! Due to this connection you can easily and quickly access the areas La Plagne and Les Arcs, the largest ski areas who form the Paradiski ski region with over 425 km of slopes - one of the top 3 largest ski regions in the world!
Throughout the area is also a cross-country trail found, leading throigh the wild landscape (access is free of charge).
