At the border of France and Switzerland the ski region Les Portes du Soleil can be found. The translation of Les Porte du Soleil is literally 'the gates of the sun', and is with its 650 km of slopes one of the biggest ski regions of the world. Due to this extensive and various offer within the ski area this destination is the ideal winter sports holiday!

Les Portes du Soleil can be divided in the following villages: Morzine, Châtel, Avoriaz, Les Gets, Champéry, Chapelle d’Abondance and Les Crosets. A part of these villages is located in Switzerland and the other part in France. Within all these villages we offer a wide range of apartments, chalets and residences.
The first ski lift in Les Portes du Soleil was built in the year 1968, and has since grown out to the region covering 650 km of slopes. Due to the extensive offer in slopes and varied pistes this area has great potential for every level, from advanced skiers to beginners. Also for non-skiers this area offers a range of activities such as hiking, cross-country skiing or swimming in one of the many pools.
The smaller villages within Les Portes du Soleil are ideally for families with children presenting a charming atmosphere. In the larger villages the fanatic skiers can often be found, undertaking often the long runs and the day tours. For the true daredevils the black run ‘Mur Suisse’, a steep mogul slope, in Avoiriaz is an absolute challenge, but certainly a must.
Please note: The closing date can be different for each part of the ski area, as from the end of March the lower parts can be closed (depending on the weather and snow quality). Of course you can still ski in the higher parts of the ski area (for example Morzine, Châtel and Avoriaz).
