Most skiers head to the snow between mid-December - the start of the Christmas holidays - and the end of April. The busiest weeks are, of course, the weeks that coincide with school holidays, such as Christmas and the spring break. The absolute best weeks for a skiing holiday are in January, February, and yes, even March. In January and February, the snow conditions are excellent, and in March, it can still snow heavily, but you generally also have lovely sunshine. Can you already imagine yourself sitting in a comfortable lounge chair by the slopes?
You always hear people say, "ski holidays are so expensive!" And yes, of course, it's not the cheapest holiday, but it's definitely the most enjoyable! And besides, the cost of any holiday, including skiing, is entirely up to you. A simple apartment, of course, costs much less than a luxury chalet. Ski passes are naturally more expensive in the large, popular ski areas, but there are also ski areas where a ski pass is still very affordable.
