What to consider when going on a ski holiday with the family? Which facilities are useful to have near your accommodation? A ski holiday with the family is, of course, wonderful, but it also requires good preparation. Read on and discover the most important things to consider.
Which ski resorts are fun for families?
When skiing with the family, it’s important to find an area where everyone can enjoy themselves. If you're going with young children, it’s helpful if the ski school is nearby. Older children, who will be skiing on the mountain, might appreciate plenty of blue slopes. Kids who are more advanced might really enjoy a fun park. Ski resorts known for being child-friendly include:

Things to keep in mind when going on a ski holiday with the family
- Location: Going on a ski holiday with (young) kids? Then you are doomed to carry a lot of gear. We recommend families to find accommodation within a very short walking distance of the center, near the slopes, or in an area where you can easily park nearby.
- Ski rental: When renting ski equipment, it’s wise to get everything sorted early in the morning. It can be a bit of a hassle, and it's best when the shop isn't too crowded.
- Ski lessons: Make sure to stay nearby and reachable to pick up young children from lessons when necessary. Little ones skiing for the first time might not have the strength and energy to endure lessons all week (keep this in mind when purchasing your own ski pass).
- Wellness: A swimming pool at your accommodation is a great idea. It's a welcome change of pace when you want to do something other than skiing with the kids.
